Trauma Recovery
In order to survive trauma, we cope the best way that we can. Some people numb their feelings by creating a life of perpetual busyness, some cope with food, others with alcohol or substances. Others might isolate because their experience interacting with the world has resulted in so much hurt.
We tend to use those tools that we know will help us survive. And while we are surviving, we start to miss out on life. We lose contact with others and ourselves. We go through the motions of daily life without experiencing connection or joy. We may feel hopeless, angry, exhausted, and ashamed.
Still, hope remains. There is healing through trauma. There are opportunities to reconnect with ourselves and walk a new path filled with purpose, joy and compassion. I am honored to partner with you on this journey.
