Therapy
Folks seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Below, you will find the areas of support that I provide. Please note that I work with folks that are 18 years and older.
Navigating Life
Sometimes we have experiences of old wounds that we can’t move past. The relationships where you feel stuck. The negative stories that you believe about yourself.
Perhaps you are living through middle age and coping with life shifts. You may be feeling untethered, feeling the complexities of body changes, and navigating family transitions.
You deserve a place to land as you work through these experiences and reconnect with yourself.
Trauma Recovery
Experiencing trauma can take away who you used to be and who you want to be. While we are surviving, we may start to miss out on life. We lose contact with others and ourselves. We go through the motions of daily life without experiencing connection or joy. We may feel hopeless, angry, exhausted, and ashamed.
I specialize in working with survivors domestic violence, sexual assault, grief/loss, and adult survivors of childhood abuse. There is healing from trauma and opportunities to walk a path filled with purpose, joy and compassion.
Therapy for the Helping Professional
This work that we do as helping professionals can make us weary, and we don’t always have the space to share the impact of these experiences with others. These roles have been even more demanding as we continue to work within oppressive systems and with fewer resources. Additionally, we are doing this work in the context of our real life, with the demands of daily life and possibly our previous experiences of trauma. Often, the impact of our work is often not understood by those around us. Let’s create a space of rest for you.
Please note: the term "helping professionals" is inclusive of a lot of different roles, including (and not limited to) social workers, caseworkers, therapists, caseworkers, health care professionals, educators, etc.
